Oxford To Dorset

Our move from Oxford to Dorset…WHY?

Since I can remember I have spent every school holiday and half-term in Dorset, my family and I fell in love with the beauty and charm that Dorset has to offer.

We used to stay at Durdle Door holiday park, we never got bored, we even stayed in the same caravan every single time! Once, we booked a stay in a luxury holiday cottage and I kid you not we all felt as though we weren’t on holiday and it just didn’t feel right – never again!

Then when I met my partner Flynn, he used to join us on our family holidays too. As we got a little older and both had our own cars we used to go for weekend trips together, some of the hotels we stayed in (oh my goodness) we even did some wild camping! Flynn started to fall in love with this magical place just as much as me!

At a young age, we soon realised that we both wanted to move to Dorset and live on the South coast. We saved tirelessly even when we had Saturday jobs and were only earning £50 a week, we still saved half and spent half (I’ve got to thank my mum for that handy trick) As soon as we left school/college we both got full-time jobs and saved every single penny we earned, and at the age of 19 Pegasus Estate LTD was born.

When 20 came we had enough money to move, we had a large chunk for a deposit, moving fees and furniture. So off we went looking for houses. In total we viewed 12 houses across Dorset, all in different areas due to knowing that as soon as we moved we were both going to be self-employed and working from home, so it didn’t matter where we lived.

Our first viewing was Heather Cottage and we immediately fell in love. At the time we didn’t have the paperwork ready to make an offer so just prayed that it would still be on the market by the time we did.

Once we had the paperwork and had a second viewing, we made an offer and within a few weeks it was accepted!

The rest can be saved for another day and written in a blog post (as it is far too long for just a caption) tomorrow I will delve into how we still run and own our property investment company in Oxford, 115 miles away.

Xx
