Taking Care of Yourself: How to Cope When You Feel Overwhelmed

Feeling overwhelmed and like everythings getting a little too much? Feeling overwhelmed can be a difficult and an uncomfortable experience….

I get you, I think everyone experiences a feeling like this at some point in their lives. Everything goes a little murky and you can’t seem to find your way out πŸ˜–

Don’t panic, you’ve got this. Take a step back, try and take a look at everything that is currently daunting you from a bird’s eye view, look down on top of your thoughts rather than being surrounded and swamped by them. By understanding what is causing the feeling of overwhelm, we can begin to take steps to manage it better and make sure that it doesn’t take over our lives 🧠 

Write everything down, empty your head of all of these thoughts and worries πŸ’­ Even draw a little circle and put all of the thoughts in there, then start to draw lines ✏️ from each thought in the circle with bullet points of what you are currently doing towards this thought and what you are going to do going forward and when you want this thought/thing resolved by. 

If it can help even just a little bit it is worth a try. 

Relax your shoulders, un clench your jaw, close your eyes and just take a deep breath.
