January Blues and Things to do to Keep you Busy During Lockdown

JANUARY BLUES…

Well I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas!

Sadly the January blues are really starting to kick in!

For the past few years something has hung over my celebrations, an unwanted emotion which I can never really shift.

It is the knowledge that after Christmas and New Year I tend to hit a bit of a wall and begin feeling down – aka January blues!

Does anyone else feel this way?

Especially with Oxford being put into Tier 4 and a national lockdown looming, it seems to be worse than ever this year!

This is not a “feel sorry for me post” I just want to try and help other people who may be feeling the same and relate with them and reassure that these feelings are normal.

Here a few things that I am doing to try and keep positive:

– Reading ‘feel good’ books
– Zoom calls with friends
– Dog walks
– Exploring nearby villages
– Making plans for 2021
– Setting new goals
– Doing some form of exercise
– Re-organising your home
– Try new hair styles
– New make-up looks
– Bake
– Make nice dinners

The list goes on but I strongly encourage anyone that may be feeling a bit down or just not themselves to do even just one of the above. Give yourself a purpose and keep your thoughts positive.

Sending love to everyone and my inbox is always open.
