Get To Know Me

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF…

Firstly, let me say hello and thank you for clicking onto my new blog! Secondly, let me apologise for the essay length of this post! I just couldn’t stop writing and felt everything needed to be said. I want you all to know everything I think you need to know about me and my background, as it’s what makes me ME. But I promise my future posts will be more succinct, less about me and more about fun things! 🙂

My name is Evie, I am 21 years old, I live in Dorset with my partner Flynn and Toy Poodle, Copper. I am self-employed and own a successful property investment business based in Oxford. I was born and raised in Oxford and think that it is the most wonderful city and feel extremely privileged to have been brought up in such a fantastic place in the world, however, I now live in a little village called Osmington right on the South coast.

As mentioned above, I own a successful rent to rent business based in Oxford, Oxfordshire. I started my company a little over two years ago when I was 19. It all began when I started feeling lost in my day to day job. Ever since I can remember I knew that I wanted to work for myself and for me to become my own boss, I am not very good at being told what to do!

I’ve also always known that I wanted to become a millionaire, by the time I m 25 to be precise  (didn’t have a clue on how I just had the sheer determination to make it happen). The number of business plans I used to draw up, I used to make all of my family sit on the sofa whilst I pitched potential business ideas to them – there were quite a few! A mini family version of Dragons Den.

It all started one day after work when I was on a dog walk with my partner Flynn and he explained that he had seen an advert on Facebook for a property seminar which was taking place in London, which happened to be free. We immediately signed up and bagged ourselves two tickets to Paul Preston’s ‘The Property Investing Fast Track Day’ we didn’t even think twice. This kind of thing was so out of character for the both of us and looking back at it now, I can’t quite believe it all happened the way it did.In January 2018 my partner and I attended the seminar, little did I know it was the start of something magical. By April 2018 I had bagged my first R2RHMO property. I had put forward £12,000 for this deal, every single penny I had saved was spent, it literally was all the money that I owned, which was pretty scary bearing in mind I was 19 at that time. The reason for the large payment is that I had no experience and no suitable references, therefore I offered to pay 6 months rent upfront to secure the deal (crazy I know but it sure has paid off) and I owe a massive thank you to both the landlord and agent of that deal, as it’s what helped make all of my dreams come true.  Since then I have acquired 6 R2RHMO’s and 4 R2RSA’s resulting in me now owning a flourishing property business at the age of 21.

I now own my own property which I bought last year which is on the south coast, in Dorset. I feel incredibly lucky and fortunate to be able to have purchased my first home at the age of 20, considering the average UK first time buyer is 34, I am pretty proud, to say the least. Heather Cottage truly is a dream come true and I cannot put into words how perfect it really is!

So as you obviously already know I have also just started my new blog ‘That Property Girl Evie’ over the past 2 years, I have had many requests to share my story, my tips to success and just a little glimpse into my day to day life. Therefore I thought there is no better way to share my story with you than to start a blog.

I had thought about starting a YouTube channel but I am hopeless in front of the camera and I am much better at putting my thoughts and feelings into words.

My main reason for starting this blog was to help and inspire others, I hope to post daily ‘Thoughts of The Day’ which you will be able to find both here on the blog and over on my Instagram page, these will be small little nuggets of knowledge both business and lifestyle-related. I also plan to publish one a blog a week which will either be specified to property or lifestyle.

An aim of mine is to help others follow their dreams and make people believe that anything is possible no matter how big or small and no matter how crazy your dreams may sound, you need to know that you can achieve them. I am a strong believer that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. So although my success has come through property I aim to help people even if they do not have the slightest interest in property investment.

So! I’m sorry this was so long, and if you have made it this far, thank you! I’m loving this journey so much, as you can PROBABLY tell I really enjoy writing! 😉

Xx
